Give ‘Em the Lumber first dropped the gloves against boring hockey writing in 2005. Since then we’ve been giving the upper deck hockey fan a voice by putting out a print zine each year around NHL playoff time. Inspired by the on and off-ice leadership of such hockey luminaries as Joey “Shithead” Keithley, Mike Ricci, and the Hanson Brothers we took the title from the D.O.A. song of that name.
Our collaborators are a motley international squad representing the great hockey hotspots of Sweden, Canada, and the Oakland Ice Center.
From beer league hockey to the punk rock show the Give ‘Em the Lumber staff will be drinking out there in the parking lot and discoursing on the beautiful game of Ice Hockey.
